Police officers in Kericho are actively searching for a suspect in connection with the deaths of two missing young girls, aged 9 and 12, whose decomposing bodies were discovered in a shallow grave.
The tragic incident occurred in Nyatembe village, Sotik Sub County, where the girls had gone missing for four days.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the girls were allegedly killed by their mother’s lover, who had been living with her. The mother has since been arrested and is currently under police interrogation as part of the ongoing investigation.

According to Area Chief Lenny Kirui, neighbors confronted the mother when the children were missing, and she claimed they had gone to visit their grandmother.
Authorities, however, have yet to determine the exact motive behind this heartbreaking crime.
The bodies have been transported to Kapkatet Sub County Hospital mortuary as the search intensifies for the prime suspect.
