On Monday, additional police officers were sent to Dagoretti High School in Nairobi following a violent clash between two groups of students. The conflict, which originated from a dispute over a basketball game, resulted in injuries to at least 11 students.

The altercation, which began on Sunday evening, escalated into the night and took on a religious dimension. The students used sticks and stones during the confrontation.

Police investigations revealed that the fight broke out between a Form One and a Form Four student during a basketball game. The situation intensified when Sudanese students clashed with Kenyan students.

Eleven Sudanese students sustained minor injuries and were taken to Garden Medical Clinic, where they are reported to be in stable condition. Further disturbances continued late into Sunday night, prompting an increased police presence to manage the situation.

Tensions remained high on Monday, and additional officers were deployed to maintain order. Police are actively working to address the violence and restore calm at the school.
