Eleven students at Dagoretti High School in Nairobi were injured in a fight over basketball involving two groups of learners on Sunday.

According to police, the students used stones and sticks to attack each other, and more police officers have been deployed to the school.

Police say the students were playing basketball in the school when a dispute erupted between two students, Form One and Form Four, leading to a fight between Sudanese students and Kenyan students.

As a result, 11 Sudanese students sustained minor injuries and were rushed to Garden Medical Clinic and are in stable condition.

Police said more chaos was reported on Sunday night, which turned religious.

Tension remained high on Monday, and more police officers were deployed there to manage the situation.

As a result, the school has been closed indefinitely.
