Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki and his Roads counterpart, Davis Chirchir, relaunched the construction of the Engineer-Mbiginano-Gathara-Tulaga-Mbirithi-Chuma Road Project In Kinangop Constituency.

The duo inspected the 4 kilometers of the 44 kilometers constructed before the project stalled one year ago.

He promised that the project will not stop midway and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure it was constructed to the specified standard.

Speaking at the Gathara shopping center during the launch, Prof. Kindiki said the government will ensure the project does not stall since it is already fully financed by the government in collaboration with the China Development Fund (CDF).

The Interior CS noted that the government is accelerating the program to complete road projects that stalled under the former Administration due to funding constraints.

He also directed Nyandarua County Commissioner, who coordinates government projects at the county level, to ensure that road projects are done to standards and not to hesitate to report any uncalled-for delays.

Similarly, he urged the county commissioner to ensure the contractor engages local community for non-skilled and semi-skilled labour.
