Comedian David Oyando popularly known as Mulamwah is mourning the loss of his stepmother, who passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Mulamwah shared the devastating news, revealing that she passed away while undergoing surgery at a hospital in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County. Having lost his biological mother at a young age, the comedian expressed profound grief in an emotional tribute.
He credited his stepmother for raising him as her own, describing the immense role she played in his life. “R.I.P MUM. She always raised me as her own. We lost her on the operating table while she was being operated on following a short illness,” Mulamwah wrote.
The comedian, who is a father of three, announced that his stepmother will be laid to rest on October 19, 2024, at their family home in Kitale, just behind Bikeke Health Centre.
He appealed for prayers during this time of profound grief. “Burial will be on Saturday, October 19, in our Kitale home. Keep us in your prayers at this time of need,” he added, as he prepared to bid farewell to the woman he considered his mother.
Mulamwah’s wife, Ruth K, also expressed her support for her grieving husband. In a heartfelt message, she assured him of her presence and strength throughout this challenging period.
“May her soul rest peacefully. We are together in this, babe. Continue being strong as you have always been,” she wrote in response to the devastating news.
The news of Mulamwah’s loss has drawn an outpouring of condolences from fellow celebrities, fans, and friends.
Media personality Sarah Kabu shared her sympathies, writing, “Death may steal the people we love, but it cannot steal the memories we made with them. Our heartfelt condolences are with you during this difficult season of grief. May her soul RIP.”
Comedian DJ Shiti, Stevo Simple Boy, Guardian Angel, and musician Daddy Owen were among the many who extended their condolences, offering prayers and comforting words to the comedian.
