Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 78-year-old man whose body was discovered in a murram quarry in Wagwer, Ulamba sub-location in Siaya County.
According to Area Assistant Chief Fredrick Warinda, the body of Bartholomew Obita Odera was discovered by villagers on Monday evening.
Warinda said the man is believed to have been murdered elsewhere, and his body dumped in the quarry.
Further, he revealed that the incident was reported to the Wagai police station, prompting officers to visit the scene.
The body has since been transported to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation, with a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
