Police in Tharaka Nithi have launched an investigation into the murder of a night watchman at Kathanthatu Day Secondary School in Nkuene, South Imenti.
Confirming the incident, Gakuri's Senior Assistant Chief Joseph Muthuri revealed that another watchman was critically injured.
He stated that the injured watchman was taken to Nkubu Consolata Mission Hospital for treatment as authorities launched an investigation.
Further, he said that suspected thieves broke into four school offices, stealing an undisclosed amount of items.
Evidence of a violent struggle between the watchmen and the thieves was found at the scene, with bloodstains observed in the compound.
