Residents in Kutus have raised concerns after the carcasses of three donkeys that had been slaughtered were discovered near the Kutus primary school playground on Wednesday.
According to a local, John Mugo said he had reported the theft of his donkeys and was informed about carcasses that had been dumped near Kutus primary school.
"The school guards knew my donkeys had gone missing and informed me about the carcasses," he said.
Mugo said he had been earning a living from his three donkeys, which he used to transport water to several townhomes.
"I have been rendered jobless by this act and I want police to investigate and arrest the culprits," Mugo said.

Gabriel Gatimu, the chairman of the donkey owners group at Kutus, said this is the first incident to occur in the Kutus market area.
He urged the Kirinyaga County Department of Health to inspect butcheries and food joints, as people might be eating donkey meat.
"The suspects were not targeting skin as they left the skin of the three donkeys," the chairman said.
Gatimu said Kutus and Mwea residents earn a living using donkeys.
