The government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has revealed that the state has constructed 124,000 affordable housing units.

Speaking on Thursday, he emphasized that the housing program will soon expand to all 290 constituencies across Kenya to provide decent housing for citizens.

He noted that 50,000 completed units were developed with private investors, underscoring the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing the housing shortage.

Further, he highlighted that the initiative has created job opportunities for many young Kenyans, with over 213 individuals receiving certificates from the National Environment Training Institute, recognizing their skills and contributions to the project.

“This program not only provides housing but also dignifies our youth and stimulates the economy,” Mwaura stated, encouraging Kenyans to appreciate the contributions reflected in their pay slips.

Earlier, Mwaura disclosed that 64,211 units under the Affordable Housing Program had been booked by September 5, and 539,623 Kenyans had saved over Sh2.2 billion.
