A one-year-old child died on Tuesday night after a truck rammed into a matatu along the Narok-Maimahiu road in the Pinyinyi area of Narok County.
According to police, the 11:30 pm accident left 14 passengers hospitalized in serious condition.
The matatu was heading towards Mai Mahiu with 15 passengers on board, and as the truck ascended a hill, it rammed into the matatu from the rear.
“The matatu veered off to the left side of the road as you face Mai Mahiu's direction and rolled several times,” police at the nearby Ntulele traffic base said.
“One child aged 1 year was fatally injured and 14 passengers were rushed to the Narok County Referral Hospital and admitted in serious condition.”

The child’s body was taken to the same hospital’s mortuary while both vehicles were towed to the Ntulele traffic base.
