A devastating air strike by the Sudanese army on Tuesday killed 20 people, including four children, in the capital, Khartoum.
The attack, which also injured 27 others, including women and children, was reported by the Emergency Response Room (ERR) in the southern belt of Khartoum.
These youth-led volunteer groups have been providing life-saving assistance to civilians since the conflict erupted between the Sudanese military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in April 2023.

Rescue teams recovered 20 charred bodies, including four children and two women, following the attack. This strike is part of the ongoing violence that has claimed tens of thousands of lives across Sudan, with some estimates reaching 150,000 fatalities.
The war has created the world’s largest displacement crisis and pushed Sudan to the edge of famine. The strike in Khartoum came as intense fighting continued in Sudan's Al-Jazira state, where over 50 deaths have been reported since Sunday.
Both the army and RSF have faced accusations of war crimes, including the deliberate targeting of civilians, indiscriminate shelling of residential areas, and obstructing humanitarian aid.
Earlier this year, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) noted that nearly one-third of war-related injuries in its hospitals involved women and children under 10.
