Azimio leaders Eugene Wamalwa and Kalonzo Musyoka have suggested plans to form a new political party.
Speaking to the media after hosting Kalonzo and other leaders in Kitale, Wamalwa stated that it was time for Azimio to transition into a new political organization.
He shared that the primary focus of this new entity would be to challenge President William Ruto's administration in the upcoming elections. While Wamalwa did not specify when the new party would be launched, he hinted at significant developments expected from their camp in 2025.
“We are just a few days to the new year and there are new things that are coming,” he stated.
“I believe that this is the team that will save Kenyans. This is the team that will save Kenyans from the new taxes and Ruto.”

On his part, Kalonzo maintained that they were still in Azimio.
However, he expressed that the new outfit would also be extended to other parties within the Azimio coalition.
“We have a lot of investments in Azimio. We want to be able to move in a manner which is systematic. If we come up with a new outfit, it could incorporate Azimio itself.”
Also present at the event was former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
