Former Deputy Secretary General for Youth Affairs in the Wiper Party, Felix Mambo Nduli, has been charged with publishing false information about Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Barbara Ojoo at Mavoko Law Courts, Mambo faced charges under Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act NO 5 of 2018. Governor Ndeti is listed as the complainant, with her son Charles Oduwole as a witness. The court heard that Mambo allegedly spread false information on social media, claiming that the governor and her son were enjoying themselves in the United Kingdom while he and others faced hardships in Kenya.
According to a charge sheet seen by Citizen Digital, it was alleged that Mambo, on various occasions and locations within Kenya, intended to incite panic, chaos, or violence by posting on social media, “Only Wavinya and her son can substantiate bro. Mimi na wewe tuko Kathangaita wao wanakula Raha UK,” despite knowing this information to be false.
