A 45-year-old woman, Charity Muthoni Mutoi, tragically died after jumping from the nineteenth floor of View Park Towers in Nairobi on the evening of November 6. Authorities are currently investigating the incident as a possible suicide.
Witnesses revealed that Mutoi had been visiting a male friend who runs a printing business on the ground floor. The two shared tea before she excused herself, reportedly climbing to the nineteenth floor shortly afterward.
Security guards discovered her shoes, jacket, and mobile phone left behind on the upper floor, indicating that she may have intended to take her life.
Just moments before her jump, Mutoi reportedly sent a message to her friend expressing her intention to commit suicide.
Charity Muthoni Mutoi fell onto a tent erected on the ground floor, sustaining severe injuries. Emergency responders reported that her body was badly damaged from the impact. Police have yet to determine a motive for her tragic decision. Mutoi’s body has been taken to the City Mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted.
