Social Health Authority (SHA) has appointed Robert Ingasira as the new acting Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
He replaces Elijah Wachira, who has been sent on 90-day compulsory leave to allow for investigations into his professional conduct and performance.
A letter addressed to Wachira, penned by SHA Chairperson Dr. Abdi Mohamed on Tuesday, revealed that the authority's board made the decision, citing the need for a thorough inquiry into the CEO's actions during his tenure.
Prior to his appointment, Ingasira served as SHA's Acting Director of Financial Services.
"The Board has further appointed Mr. Robert Ingasira as Ag Chief Executive Officer, while you are on leave. Therefore, please hand over the office to him immediately," said Mohamed.
