In a letter dated November 19, 2024, the EACC invited council chairperson Dr. Humphrey Njuguna, council member Professor Clara Samiji, Education Ministry representative Charles Obiero, and Treasury representative Isaac Memusi.

The officials are expected to shed light on 11 ongoing and completed projects under scrutiny.

One of the projects under investigation is the proposed construction of the School of Public Health, Dentistry, and Nursing, estimated at Ksh.726 million.

Additional expenses include electrical installations valued at Ksh.148 million and plumbing and drainage works.

Another significant project is the Library Phase II construction at Moi University’s Annex Campus, with a budget of Ksh.1.1 billion. Notably, this amount excluded Ksh.169 million allocated for electrical installations and Ksh.35 million earmarked for air conditioning. Consultancy services for supervising these projects are also being examined.

The EACC requested that the university facilitate the council members’ attendance for interviews and statement recording at the commission's Eldoret office. The investigation involves 59 individuals from the institution, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Isaac Kosgei, who has already recorded his statement.
