A middle-aged woman was arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on Thursday, accused of attempting to defraud her stepmother of a prime piece of land in Eastleigh, Nairobi, valued at Ksh. 110 million.

The suspect, Nadra Modhihiri Mohamed, was charged with conspiracy to defraud, forgery, and fraudulent land registration. She pleaded not guilty to all charges.

According to the prosecution, the alleged crimes occurred on or before November 5, 2011, at an undisclosed location in Kenya. Mohamed is accused of conspiring to unlawfully acquire property belonging to her late stepmother, Modhihiri Mohamed Modhihiri. The property, identified as LR NO.36/VII/465, covers approximately 0.2085 hectares in Eastleigh.

The prosecution revealed that the land was fraudulently transferred using a forged indenture of conveyance. This document was falsely registered under presentation number 447 on December 8, 2011, in Volume N44 Folio 14/4, File 13552. It was alleged that Mohamed was fully aware of the forged registration details.

Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe set her cash bail at Ksh. 300,000. The case is scheduled for mention in court in 14 days.
