U.S. President-elect Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Gaza militants, demanding the release of hostages by January 20, 2025, the day he officially assumes office.
Through his Truth Social platform, Trump declared severe repercussions for those responsible if the hostages remained captive.
“If the hostages are not released prior to my inauguration, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East,” Trump stated, promising unprecedented consequences against those involved. He emphasized his unwavering support for Israel while highlighting his ambition to secure global peace deals.
The situation stems from the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas, which marked the deadliest assault on Israel in its history, claiming 1,208 lives—most of them civilians. During the attack, militants abducted 251 hostages, with Israel reporting that 97 are still held in Gaza, including 35 confirmed dead.
