The Safaricom Sambaza Furaha Caravan has made its way to Ukambani and the Coastal region as it enters its fifth and final week. Residents of Masii, Kabati, and Kitui Town were treated to various gifts as Safaricom expressed its appreciation to customers ahead of the Christmas season. Maryanne Nyambura reports.

On Monday morning, the people of Masii, Machakos County, welcomed the caravan with song and dance as it was officially launched in the Ukambani region.

Gathered at the Masii market, excited residents received gifts ranging from T-shirts and food items to goats and chickens. This festive initiative aims to give back to the community and recognize Safaricom’s loyal customers.

Karen Kwamboka, a local businesswoman, shared her excitement:

"Safaricom has come to Masii, and I’ve received a gift. I’m so happy because I’m a businesswoman."

Faith Mbatha, another Masii resident, expressed her gratitude:

"I’m so happy. I’ve received a blanket, a T-shirt, and a chicken. Safaricom has truly enabled us."

The caravan continued to Kabati and Kitui Town, where residents were similarly rewarded and educated about Safaricom’s services.

Jackson Mutua, Safaricom’s Regional Business Lead for the Coast, emphasized the importance of online safety during the festive season:

"This Christmas season, we are educating our customers about online scams. Safaricom is committed to ensuring our customers get the best value."

Musyi FM and Radio Citizen presenters joined the caravan, entertaining the crowds while spreading awareness about Safaricom’s offerings.

Tina Ogall, Acting Head of Radio at Radio Citizen, noted:

"This is the climax of the caravan this week."

The Safaricom Sambaza Furaha Caravan is set to visit Machakos Town, Kathiani, Kangundo, Joska, and Kamulu on Tuesday, continuing its journey of spreading joy and appreciation.
