President Ruto praised Kenyatta’s statesmanship during the peaceful transition of power following the 2022 elections and commended his ongoing dedication to national development.

The leaders addressed global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine war, and economic volatility, emphasizing Kenya’s achievements in stabilizing food prices, reducing inflation, and strengthening the Kenyan shilling.
They credited Kenyatta's leadership with laying the groundwork for initiatives under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which includes food security, universal health coverage, affordable housing, MSME empowerment, infrastructure, and educational reforms.
Both leaders stressed the importance of accelerating these initiatives to boost household incomes and create more opportunities for Kenyans. They also highlighted the need for greater patriotism and collaboration among government, civil society, and religious groups to ensure stability and growth.
Regionally, the discussion acknowledged Kenya’s leadership role in East African peace efforts. President Ruto lauded Kenyatta’s contributions to resolving regional conflicts. Domestically, they called for the speedy resolution of legal issues surrounding the IEBC selection panel to enable the appointment of new commissioners.
The leaders also supported Raila Odinga’s candidacy for the African Union Commission Chairmanship, urging collective national and international backing.
