Two individuals, Derrick Kimathi Nyamu and Stephen Kilonzo Muite, appeared in court on Monday morning to face 11 criminal charges related to a tragic gas plant explosion in Embakasi earlier this year.
The accused pleaded not guilty to operating a bulk liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage facility without a valid Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) license.
Authorities claim the facility in Mradi estate, Embakasi, was operating illegally on February 1, 2024. Another individual linked to the case is reportedly still at large.
