Renowned journalist Herman Igambi, former Managing Editor of Citizen TV, has passed away after a long battle with brain cancer. He breathed his last on Monday at his home village in Burunda, Saboti Constituency, Trans-Nzoia County.

Igambi, known for his dedication and mentorship of young journalists, had been battling the illness since 2015. His condition worsened in August this year, leading to a stroke that left him unable to speak or move.

"He started to weaken after retiring. He underwent various treatments, including eye and brain surgeries, but his health continued to deteriorate," said Susan Igambi, his wife.

During his illustrious career, Igambi worked at prominent media organizations such as KBC, KTN, and Citizen TV. He was instrumental in nurturing talents like Catherine Kasavuli and Boke.

"He was a great mentor to many journalists," said Stephine Eboyi, a neighbor. "He was a selfless man who always put others before himself."

As the community mourns his loss, preparations for his burial are underway. Igambi's legacy as a dedicated journalist and mentor will continue to inspire future generations.
