Singer-turned-activist Kasmuel McOure faced a hostile reception during Tuesday's anti-femicide protests in Nairobi's CBD. Despite his previous involvement in the Gen Z demonstrations, a section of protesters and netizens expressed their disapproval of his presence.

Videos circulating online captured McOure being jeered and shouted at, forcing him to retreat from the protest. Many on social media accused him of "selling out" and "dining with the government."

McOure later took to X to explain his actions, stating that he understood the protesters' concerns and would continue to support the cause. However, he acknowledged that his presence might have detracted from the focus of the protest.

This incident comes after McOure faced similar criticism in October for his perceived silence on the attack on Morara Kebaso during a parliamentary session. His decision to address the Gachagua impeachment instead of condemning the violence against Kebaso drew further backlash.
