President William Ruto has announced fresh changes to his Cabinet, reintroducing several former politicians into key government positions.

In a statement issued by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy.

Kabogo will replace Dr. Margaret Nyambura, who has been appointed as Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

Mutahi Kagwe, who previously served as Health Cabinet Secretary under former President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture. He will succeed Dr. Andrew Karanja, who is now set to become Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil.

Additionally, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been tapped to head the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry. This role was previously held by Salim Mvurya, who will now oversee the Sports Ministry. The Sports docket became vacant following the appointment of Kipchumba Murkomen as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior.
