Authorities in Uasin Gishu County are investigating a bizarre case where a man allegedly established an unauthorized police patrol base in Cherus Centre, Kesses Sub-County, without approval from the National Police Service (NPS).
The suspect, identified as Collins Leitich, also known as Chepkulei, hails from Asis Village in Ndugulu Location. Reports indicate that he set up a police post inside a building, going as far as painting it in official police colors to make it appear like a legitimate security facility.
Local authorities discovered the unapproved station and immediately launched investigations into the matter. Officers from Kamuyu Police Post, under Kondoo Police Station, documented the case under OB04/08/03/2025.
Residents were shocked upon learning that the patrol base was not legally sanctioned.
