Lilian Ng’ang’a has finally addressed the long-rumored breakup with renowned hip-hop artist Julius Owino, popularly known as Juliani.

In an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, the author and former Machakos County First Lady shared her views on relationships, emphasizing that she knows when it’s time to walk away. She stated that she does not believe in holding onto something that has run its course, choosing instead to cherish the memories and lessons before moving forward.

“I never struggle to just hold on to something when its time is over. I appreciate what we’ve had, memories or lessons, and then we just move on,” she shared.

Ng’ang’a also spoke about what attracts her to a partner. She admitted that her weakness is being drawn to intelligence, even though it has not always worked out in her favour. She values a man who can challenge her intellectually and teach her something new, rather than focusing on appearance or status.

“My weakness, I have come to realise, I’m attracted to intelligence, which doesn’t always pay off. I like a man who is stimulating my mind, like teaching me something I don’t know. It’s not about sijui unakaa aje and doing this sort of thing,” she said.

In a past interview, Juliani confirmed the breakup with Lilian Ng’ang’a, not delving into many details.

“Even my previous relationship was ongoing for two years before people knew about it,” he said.

Speculation about their split began circulating in September 2024 when observant fans noticed that the two had unfollowed each other on social media and were no longer engaging with each other’s posts.

As the online chatter intensified, many questioned whether they had quietly ended their relationship. In response to the rumors, Juliani took to social media, seemingly brushing off the speculation with a cryptic message:

“Wako bent kujua njia za G. Kenye wanapata ni letter katikati ya M and P. (They are busy trying to dig into my private life but can’t get anything)” he said.

Ng’ang’a and Juliani’s relationship has been a topic of public fascination ever since her widely publicized split from former Machakos County Governor, now Labour and Social Protection CS, Alfred Mutua. The couple married in 2022 and later welcomed a son together.
