Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has spoken out about his recent removal from the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, stating that he was not consulted before the decision.

Nyoro, who Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi replaced, revealed during a press briefing that he only learned about his removal through media reports.

“No one has reached out to me regarding this matter. I found out about it from newspapers, just like everyone else,” he said.

His removal has sparked speculation, with National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah suggesting that some lawmakers misuse their committee positions to unfairly allocate resources to their constituencies.

There have been claims that Nyoro favored Kiharu in budgetary allocations at the expense of other regions, an allegation he firmly denied.

“I will not respond to evil with evil, nor will I engage in insults,” Nyoro stated, emphasizing that he harbors no resentment over the decision.

Nyoro’s response comes after a prolonged political silence, during which he was previously seen as a close ally of President William Ruto.

His recent low profile has been linked to his strong ties with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was ousted in 2024.
