Residents of Kweru in Suna West, Migori County, are grappling with relentless monkey invasions that have wreaked havoc on their farms.

The persistent destruction has left many farmers counting heavy losses, forcing some to abandon agriculture altogether.

Community leader Timothy Odhiambo voiced the frustration of many locals, emphasizing how their hard work continues to go to waste.

*"We toil in our farms daily, yet we never get to enjoy the fruits of our labor because the monkeys destroy everything,"* he lamented.

Despite trying various control measures, residents have found no effective solution to curb the primate menace. The situation has grown so severe that many farmers feel discouraged and hopeless.

Efforts to seek help from local government offices have yielded no results, leaving the affected community feeling abandoned. Beyond threatening food security, the monkey invasion has heightened desperation among the residents, who are now turning to the Kenya Wildlife Service for urgent intervention.

In addition to seeking a long-term solution, farmers also demand compensation for the substantial losses they have incurred.

If the issue remains unresolved, the livelihoods of many in God Kweru could be at risk, making immediate action crucial.
