Following a collision between a motorbike and probox at Ndaragu crossroads in Juja, Kiambu County, on Tuesday, two pillion passengers perished and a motorcyclist suffered grave injuries.

According to the police, the probox, which is thought to have been speeding, was traveling from Thika to Nairobi when it crashed head-on with the motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses claim that when the motorcycle rider attempted to pass another automobile, he appeared to have underestimated both the space between his motorcycle and the probox as well as the speed of the moving vehicle.

The motorcycle smashed head-on into the probox, killing the two pillion passengers instantly. His mistake would prove fatal.

While the remains of the deceased were sent to General Kago Morgue for storage and identification, the biker was taken urgently to Thika Level V Hospital for medical attention.

The motorcycle and probox wreckage were both brought to Juja Police Station for assessment.

Juja Sub-County police commander Phyllis Muthoni commented on the incident and stated that drivers should use caution to avoid such mishaps.

“Let us be careful on our roads, we understand students are going back to school and we don’t have to rush, let us arrive alive,” she told Citizen Digital.
