In light of the ongoing financial impasse between the county executives and the government, President William Ruto will meet with all county governors on Friday.
The nation's leader will speak on the country's financial difficulties during the two-day Ninth National and County Government Coordinating Summit in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
Along with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, they said that cabinet ministers and principal secretaries would also attend the meeting. Constitutional issues, the devolution of powers and resources, essential measures affecting county governments, audit reports, and court cases involving the two levels of government are among the other topics covered.
County Governments are at the heart of our development. Given the evident transformation that has come about in the last 10 years, we commit to timely revenue disbursements. pic.twitter.com/6lF5pYQ07U

The meeting occurred immediately, one week after DP Gachagua reprimanded the county executives for demanding an increase in the county's allotment from Ksh.370 billion to Ksh.425 billion.
According to the DP, the administration of President Ruto would only allot between Ksh. 380 and Ksh. 385 billion, making it impossible for them to get what they wanted.
They want Ksh. 425 billion. SRC claims that you can donate Ksh. Four hundred seven billion using our mathematical model. That's wonderful, but Ksh. 407 billion is even better. We can give it to you, but we only have Ksh. 380 billion," Gachagua remarked.
Therefore, we are defenceless if you decide to hang us! We don't have the money, so feel free to take off our pants and give us buttocks whipping! Watu wa kuongea ukweli, na sisi ni. We don't want to trick governors into thinking we have money we can offer them.
The governors have been lobbying for the hike to pay the unpaid bills and improve service delivery to Kenyans while also protesting the counties' skyrocketing debt loads and payment backlogs.
