The Party, the political organization founded by former president Uhuru, has suspended its secretary general Jeremiah Kioni, vice chair David Murathe and national treasurer Gichohi Kagwe for what it has deemed to be their conduct of the organization's business.

Jubilee Chairman Nelson Dzuya announced after the National Executive Committee meeting ended at the Sarova Woodlands Hotel in Nakuru.

Speaking to the general media after the meeting, Mr Dzuya accused Kioni of degrading the Party and arbitrarily issuing disciplinary letters without consulting other members or adhering to the established processes.

At the moment, EALA MP Kanini Kega will take over for Kioni in her role as acting secretary general, whereas Eldas MP Adan Keynan will step in for David Murathe. The acting national treasurer of Jubilee will now be Raychel Nyamai.

In a subsequent announcement, Jubilee declared "that the following party officials are suspended immediately and their cases are sent to the Party's Internal Dispute Resolution for further consideration."

"The National Disputes Resolution Committee should meet right away to talk over the issues involving the suspended officials."

In addition, there was a decision to collaborate with Kenya Kwanza rather than the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party at the Party's NEC meeting, which 14 of the Party's 21 members attended.

The statement said, "The National Executive Committee interacts with the ruling coalition on the prospect of forging a working cooperation arrangement with it prior to the calling of a Special National Delegates Convention."

Jubilee also wants that the administration of President William Ruto recognizes it as the third-largest political Party in Parliament.


Given that Jubilee is the third-largest Party in Parliament, the NEC demanded that Jubilee Party be a Parliamentary party with rights and perks that go with that.

The Party similarly accepted several individuals into its NEC following the two-thirds gender requirement, particularly MPs Irene Njoki Murembo, Sabina Chege, Margaret Kamar, and Jerusha Momanyi.
