Marianne Kitany, an Aldai member of parliament, and Mithika Linturi, the agriculture cabinet secretary, are engaged in a legal dispute over home ownership in Nairobi's Runda neighbourhood.

The incident comes after the court blocked MP Kitany, CS Linturi's estranged ex-wife, from being evicted from the home.

Her lawyers successfully got orders on Wednesday to postpone the implementation of a court order to evict her, but not before some individuals tried to take her possessions forcibly.

On Wednesday night, a team purportedly following the directions of a court order arrived to take possession of the property, turning the opulent home into a dramatic stage.

According to reports, the guys entered the compound and evicted the home's residents.

Kaitany was the one living in the multi-million dollar home. Still, there were orders to evict her after the courts ruled that there was no marriage between the two and that she had no legal title to the property.

Based on a court order that authorized the Runda Police Station to provide protection and aid in evicting Kitany from the house on February 7, 2023, the eviction occurred on Wednesday night.

Moses Kurgat, Kitany's attorney, who was also present during the attempted eviction, asserted that those who came to carry it out did so in violation of the court's orders.

Additionally, according to attorney Kurgat, the eviction took place despite a second court order issued on Wednesday by the same magistrate who published the first one, delaying the orders she had given on February 7, pending instructions from the court on February 22.

As they waited for confirmation of the validity of the most recent court order, the police subsequently assumed control of the security of the residence and ejected both parties.

The MP and the CS will have to wait to find out who will emerge victorious in the interim.
