The committee probing the conduct of IEBC commissioner irene masit during the 2022 general election led by Justice Aggrey Muchelule resumes its sitting on the 20th of February.
Irene masit is among four former IEBC commissioners accused of planning to rig the 2022 presidential elections. The other three former commissioners include Francis wanderi, Justus Nyangaya and Juliana cherera.
The four former IEBC commissioners opposed the election of President William Ruto, terming the results of the presidential election as opaque. The commissioners wanted to avoid Wafula chebukati announcing Ruto as the winner.

during the previous hearing, the committee summoned the former IEBC chair, and he stated that top officials from the government tried to make him change the results of the elections in favour of azimio leader raila odinga or force a rerun or that the country would go into chaos.
The former IEBC commissioner says that the top government officials also tried to offer him a bribe to change the results.
However, the azimio leader has come out guns blazing, accusing the former IEBC chair of colluding with the current regime to steal the elections. Raila odinga claims that he won the election by over 2 million votes but that the results were changed in favour of Ruto.
President Ruto and his administration have denied the claims saying that they will continue to deliver to the people of Kenya and not engage in politics.
