The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has asked Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to close terminal two for two days ahead of Jill Biden's visit to the country.
KCAA notes that closing the terminal for two days will help the security forces facilitate the movement of the first lady of the united states of America, who will be making her first trip to the continent after becoming the first lady.
Terminal 2 will be closed on Friday, February 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, February 26, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.During her visit, Jill Biden will meet with her Kenyan counterpart, Rachel Ruto, and other top government officials.
The first lady will be in the country following her trip to Namibia, beginning on Wednesday and ending on Sunday. According to a senior administration official, the purpose of her journey is to reconfirm the US government's investment opportunities in Africa, not just in their governments, but in their people, as well as to continue her work to empower women and young people.
