Two children aged five and seven are among three killed in a bandit attack in the Korolle area in Kargi location laisamis, Marsabit County.
Mohamud Arbelle, the assistant chief for the kargi location, confirmed the killings saying that the three were killed by suspected bandits as they were in the fields grazing their animals in the local grazing fields about 20 kilometres from Kargi town.
"As we speak, three people are dead while a fourth one has been admitted at Kargi Hospital with bullet wounds," Mr Arbelle said.
One injured herder is nursing bullet wounds and awaits referral to the Marsabit hospital. Reports indicate that the suspected bandits were hiding in the bushes at night. They started shooting indiscriminately at 2 am and made away with over 1000 goats from the grazing fields.

According to Marsabit County police commander Robinson Mboloi, security officers have been deployed to Kargi to calm tensions and pursue the assailants. He stated that more detailed information would be provided once the officers assessed the extent of the bandits' damage.
"We have dispatched a team of multi-agency security officers to the area and more information about the attack will follow," Mr Mboloi said.
This attack comes when the interior cabinet secretary declared that bandits are terrorists as the fight to eradicate banditry in the north rift continues.
Speaking during the Senate Committee on National Cohesion and Integration, the interior cs reaffirmed the need to eradicate bandits in the country.
"Terrorism has replaced livestock rustling. Politicians are playing this game, he said.
He claimed that security personnel would permanently be stationed in war-torn Northern Kenya to maintain economic growth in the area.
Even though the amnesty period is over, the interior secretary told senators that the disarmament has yet to start.
Kindiki pledged to remove all guns ruthlessly.
"I am conscious that engaging in this activity may alienate some lawmakers. It's going to be awful. He declared that I had the President's backing to deal harshly with leaders in both his party and the opposition.
