After a summons from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the embattled former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to the Mazingira House offices (DCI).

Videos that Waza News saw showed the former CS travelling to the location with his attorney Danstan Omari, Rarieda MP Otiende Omolo, and other legal representatives.

Even with officials confirming each member's identity, the attorneys were temporarily prevented from escorting their client inside the building.


The crew was then allegedly given entrance to the premises after Omari clarified the names of each member.

On Tuesday, Matiang'i was told to show up at the location by 9.30 a.m.

The DCI has been investigating and interrogating him concerning the purported police raid on his home in February 2023.

According to the DCI, the former CS would be subject to legal action if he will not obey the summons.

After a two-week private vacation to Europe to attend to personal family concerns, Matiangi came home on Saturday.

Previously Matiangi was ordered to appear at DCI headquarters by Senior Superintendent of Police Michael Sang because he may have released false information about the supposed police raid a fortnight ago but did not comply with the summons.
