Sixteen new Chief Officers in Nyandarua County took an oath of office on Tuesday evening after their vetting and approval.
This follows the overturning of the court order by the Employment and Labour Court sitting in Nakuru before Justice David Nderitu vacating orders restraining the County Assembly from vetting new chief officers who had been nominated by Governor Dr Kiarie Badilisha.
The sixteen senior officers were sworn in amid calls for leaders to embrace one another and respect government institutions.
Nyandarua governor lamented that the process has had its fair share of challenges and roadblocks, but observed that it marked a new beginning for service delivery in building a better county.
Speaking during the brief ceremony held at the Governor’s offices witnessed by CECMs, a few government officers and members of the public the governor noted that the new senior officers will be instrumental in bringing change and realizing the dreams of the local people.

“As professionals, I want these Chief Officers to serve people with utmost fidelity to the law and integrity and at the same time, observe collective and collegial approaches to governance and managing our departments,” said Badilisha.
Further, he has called for quick implementation of projects stating that it is imperative that each project implemented is ‘responsive to the felt needs of our people and brings value for money to Mwananchi.’
On his part, the Speaker of the County Assembly Stephen Wachira Waiganjo assured the Chief Officers, and the entire administration, of the Assembly’s support towards making Nyandarua a changed and transformed place for all.
The leaders noted that both the Assembly and the Executive serve the interests of the people and hence called for concerted efforts to enhance service delivery.
