According to Kenyans on Twitter, the wife of Vice President Rigathi Gachagua now has a moniker.

Following her request for a nickname last week, Kenyans have given Second Lady Dorcas Wanjiku the moniker "Rigathress," which combines the names Rigathi and "dress." The person using the Twitter handle @ wangwe, was the first to spread the word.

Pastor Dorcas requested a nickname during an event at the University of Nairobi, stating that she wanted one similar to her husband's moniker, "Riggy G," which has gained a lot of popularity in Kenya.

Many Kenyans have used the moniker Rigathress to refer to her in their tweets, making it a trending topic on Twitter. The name has gained popularity swiftly.

Aisha Jumwa, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Affirmative Action, and Women, is travelling with the Second Lady to the UN General Assembly.

The DP first encountered Ivy Chelimo, the mind behind his well-known pseudonym, at his Nairobi office last year. The nickname, used by Kenya's youth, Mr Gachagua said, opens up his office to the younger generation. He welcomed the term to connect to the youths.

That wasn't a terrible name; it had a pleasant tone. The youth have taken to the term, and it is encouraging that they communicate with the government in their own unique way, the DP stated at the time.

The moniker "Riggy G" had become so well-liked that it frequently appears in online trends when the DP is involved in events that stir up discussion, such as when President William Ruto was inaugurated and delivered a furious address.

Ivy Chelimo claimed that she created "Riggy G" to get young people interested in the Deputy Presidential discussion.

"I hoped that the conversations would resonate with the younger generation. I wanted them to be actively involved in the conversation and not be disengaged from the day's events. As a result, I tweeted the moniker "Riggy G" because it was memorable and gained popularity, she said.

She was later rewarded with a job in the DP's office.
