Kenyans eagerly await information on whether Mr Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja, will carry out his vows to plan a statewide mass protest that will begin on Thursday.

Last month, Mr Odinga vowed to organize his followers to protest in the streets if President William Ruto did not resolve the rising cost of living, electoral disparity, and unequal allocation of public posts within the following 14 days.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Mr Odinga reminded President Ruto that he has until Wednesday at midnight to address their complaints, which were presented at Nairobi's Jeevanjee Gardens.

Please be patient; the deadline is midnight on Wednesday. Hence, you will hear from us on Thursday, Mr Odinga said.

The head of the Azimio movement has been holding several political rallies nationwide to exert pressure on President Ruto to give in to their requests.

On February 22, Mr Odinga issued an ultimatum and requested President Ruto halt the hiring of IEBC commissioners.

Nonetheless, President Ruto has disregarded both these demands and the threat.

The president rejected Mr Odinga's demand to have the IEBC servers opened while speaking at the Fertiplant Nakuru launch, claiming that the constitution did not require it.

Since the Supreme Court's decision on the election of August 9—in which President Ruto was declared the victor, Mr Odinga has refused to admit defeat.
