A second team from Nyanza, led by the former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero, is currently being held up in a joint press conference with the leadership of the United Democratic Alliance under the direction of the current Secretary General, Cleophas Malala, just a few hours after nearly six political parties joined the ruling party.

The meeting was held after over 30 former lawmakers and governors publicly visited President William Ruto at the Stat House and expressed openness to cooperating with him.


Earlier today, the squad announced that they had quit the Kenya Kwanzaa and the United Democratic Alliance party, as well as the Orange Democratic Movement and other related political parties within the azimio coalition.

Speaking at the occasion, the former governor Evans Kidero vowed that the team would not back down and that they would cooperate closely with the new government to demonstrate that the people of Luo Nyanza had been freed from the yoke of Odinga.
