Ababu Namwamba, the current cabinet secretary for youth affairs, sports, and the arts, had not publicly mourned the loss of his estranged wife, Prisca Mwaro Namwamba, for a week.

Given that the CS is active on social media and frequently provides stuff about his personal and private life, this led to many rumours and speculation about what was happening in the Namwamba home.

According to reports, Prisca had been in and out of the hospital at her death.

Jonathan Mueke, principal secretary for sports, has since expressed his condolences to the Namwamba family.

Jonathan Mueke, principal secretary for sports, has since expressed his condolences to the Namwamba family.

"The Lord is near to the weeping" (Psalms 34:18 ). I visited Waziri Ababu Namwamba this evening at his home and conveyed my condolences on the passing of his wife. PS Mueke also uploaded images from Namwamba's home, saying, "May the Lord comfort you during this trying time.

This week's requiem mass was attended by Mr Namwamba, his two young kids, and his daughter.

On March 8, 2023, a day after her birthday, the late Mwaro passed away. Her bones were reportedly transported to MP Shah Hospital mortuary after being discovered dead in her Nairobi home.

After eight years of marriage, Ms Mwaro and Mr Namwamba divorced in 2018 after their death is alleged to have fled their marital residence.


According to one of the deceased, their families attempts to bring them together ran into trouble.

The inability of one of Mwaro's siblings to come to terms with the other was primarily a result of Mr Namwamba's position. Ms Mwaro worked as an administrator at Kengen up until her passing.
