Kithure Kindiki, the interior cabinet secretary, finally spoke out after Raila Odinga and the leaders of the One Kenya Alliance's Azimio La Umoja led large-scale protests in Nairobi.

The CS has also stated that to maintain long-term peace and stability in the nation, Kenya must put an end to impunity and apply a single constitution and set of laws to all citizens.

Today, demonstrators clashed with police in Nairobi, forcing officers to use water cannons and tear gas to clear the crowd.
In Nairobi, numerous police officers were forced to flee after being stoned by the protesters.
Police were compelled to leave Kisumu as a throng charged forward.
