President Ruto knows the court to which they will take him for deploying the police to obstruct the Azimio protests.

Supporters of Azimio were able to hold protests in the counties of Nairobi, Migori, and Kisumu, but in all three, they encountered pushback from police who were on high alert.

For instance, in Nairobi, members of parliament who attempted to enter the KICC were detained, while demonstrators were not allowed to enter the CBD.

Moreover, Raila Odinga was forced to address his supporters outside the city since his convoy could not enter the CBD.

No demonstrators entered the secure grounds of President Ruto's house, State House in Nairobi, which was closely guarded and periodically halted for a search.

Enraged by the actions of the police, the head of Azimio has vowed to take action against President Ruto. Raila Odinga has pledged to sue the government in response to the incarceration of legislators, senators, and protesters.

He also claims that the use of tear gas by the police was improper.

He continued, in Raila's words: "Our people are being arrested and gassed with tear gas. At the ICC, we will sue Ruto."

If Mr Odinga's comments are to be believed, President Ruto will be the second sitting president to come before the ICC and find himself there for a second time.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was the first president to be in office during the first half of his administration, but his case was dismissed for lack of supporting evidence.
