The government has been warned not to attempt to detain Raila Odinga by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Speaking to K24 on Wednesday, Owino asserted that considering Raila's arrest would be treasonous and destroy the nation.

"It is treason to arrest him. If try going that way, and I can guarantee you if you want this country to fall. He replied that we were prepared to restart when you even mentioned wanting to detain Raila."

He stated that if Raila is arrested, the Azimio members of Parliament must resign.

We are aware that we control 70% of this nation, so don't consider it or let yourself be fooled, Babu remarked.

And I can attest that if you attempt to detain Raila, even we members of Parliament would quit and join a campaign to purge this nation.

Following the demonstrations on Monday, MPs associated with the United Democratic Alliance stated on Tuesday that Raila Odinga, the opposition leader, should be detained by the police.

The party members demanded that Raila and other Azimio officials be held liable for the harm done during the demonstrations during a news conference for the media.

In a statement by UDA Chairperson Cecily Mbarire, they said, "we want them to be penalized for every stone thrown, property destroyed and robbed, and lives lost, regardless of who they are."

They also declared that former President Uhuru Kenyatta was responsible for the damages and should be held accountable for funding the protests.
