At the Nairobi Regional Police Headquarters, Azimio leaders Eugene Wamalwa, Jeremiah Kioni, Wycliffe Oparanya, and George Wajackoyah turned in the letter addressed to Bungei.
Azimio noted the procession will take place in all the major streets making up the Nairobi Central Business District from dawn to dusk. They further requested the deployment of enough police officers to guarantee security to attendees and exercise crowd control.
However, Bungei said letters of intent to picket should not be addressed to him but to the rightful regulating officers in respective police stations.
According to Bungei, the regulating officer is one commanding a police station. He directed that the letter be served to the police station, guided by the law.
Azimio's leader, Raila Odinga, declared on Tuesday that the alliance would organize large-scale demonstrations every Monday and Thursday.
He hailed the March 20 demonstrations as a success and vowed to remain steadfast until President William Ruto complied with their requests.
Moreover, Raila criticized the police's use of force during the demonstrations and warned them that they would each face legal action for breaking the Constitution.
Notification done, its now full speed ahead.
