A boat that sank in Lake Victoria at approximately midnight on Friday has been reported missing, along with three individuals, including two police officers and a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) employee.
The three individuals are Police Sergeant Anderson Wendot, Police Constable Onesmus Githinji, and KRA employee Joseph Jillo, who was in charge of the boat at the time of the incident.
The three were among eight officers from a platoon from the National Police Service, Marine Police, Administration Police (AP), and KRA, according to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, who were engaged in a joint operation around the lake when the boat capsized about 200 meters from Mugabo Beach at around 00:20.
According to the police report, those who were saved were Sergeant Athman Mohammed, Corporal Erick Ogutu, AP Constable David Omollo, Clifford Owino (KRA), and Omar Omar (KRA).

Mohammed, Wendot, and Omollo had three AK47 weapons, each loaded with 30 rounds of ammo. These rifles have not yet been found.
