The head of Kenya One, Raila Odinga, will speak with residents of Kibera Constituency during his visit there today, March 29, 2023.

A mosque and a church were burned down as reprisal on Monday night, causing mayhem in the neighbourhood.

Mr Odinga visited the Northlands property in Ruiru and denounced the gang's invasion and destruction of the undetermined value property.

Additionally, he charged that the anger directed at the area where the ex-family presidents intended to construct a metropolis costing Sh500 billion was the work of the opposition.

In the Makina neighbourhood of Kibera, a mob vandalized a kiosk close to a mosque after claiming it was home to a group sponsoring their antics.

Many other stalls near the mosque and church were damaged on Monday night.

Speaking there, Mr Odinga expressed his worry over the burning of the church and mosque and claimed that he had not received any satisfying explanations for what had happened. As he interacts with residents today, he expects to receive answers.

The event happened only a few hours after Mr Odinga held a rally in Kibra as part of an opposition protest that began in Kawangware, in Nairobi's Dagoretti North Sub-County.

According to Kilimani police commander Muturi Mbogo, no fatalities were reported during the disturbance. He stated that the police are looking into the incidents.

Mr Odinga's visit to Kibera will help clarify the situation and offer remedies to the villagers impacted as the inquiry progresses.

Leaders must unite and strive for peace and togetherness when tensions are high. Justice and assistance are merited for the residents of Kibera, and Mr Odinga's visit should deliver both.
