ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna has denied claims that Former President Uhuru Kenyatta funds the Azimio antigovernmental rallies.
Sifuna stated that he had never witnessed Uhuru funding the rallies in a media interview on Wednesday.
He said anyone who claims that Uhuru is paying for the rallies should be corrected.
Sifuna claimed that the annual membership fee, which he pays at the start of each year for Sh5000, is how the ODM party receives funding from its supporters.
Sifuna claimed, "I contribute through my income at the PSC, which is deducted and goes directly to the party.

The Nairobi Senator claimed that despite the lack of funding for the demonstrations, Kenyans will still turn out to protest because of the grave situation in their country.
He claimed that there are three ways that political parties might raise money.
Sifuna mentioned the funding for political parties. He claimed that the party also receives funding from member subscriptions and contributions.
I contribute Sh5,000 annually to my political party as an ODM life member, Sifuna remarked.
He claimed that ODM-elected MPs pay Sh20,000 monthly, typically taken from their wages.
"I give the party Sh20,000 each month as an elected member of parliament. We are approaching 100, and I am just one MP. We all have money taken out of our paychecks. Then, each MCA is elected by over 500 members of our party "explained he.
Sifuna claimed that they also receive contributions from the general public.
According to the city senator, resources are typically not used during or before rallies but after them.
"Only after the rallies, when you discover 10 people have been taken into custody and you must post monetary bail for them, do we need to hunt for resources. We hold impromptu Harambes. We call members of parliament and inform them that X number of persons are being held by the police, that X number of attorneys are needed, and that Sh 100,000 in cash bail is required. There, we merely raise money "He clarified.
Leaders of Kenya Kwanza have asserted that Uhuru is the only one funding the rallies.
