On Thursday morning, a new round of protests erupted in the Mathare Number 10 area, with videos showing protesters engaging anti-riot police in running battles.

Tens of anti-riot police officers were seen in videos patrolling the area in full anti-riot gear.

The third round of anti-government protests took place on Thursday, reportedly called for by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga in response to the government's refusal to address rising living costs and access to IEBC servers.


On the other hand, the bi-weekly protests are still illegal, with the Cabinet Secretary of the Interior Ministry warning against any plans to gather "with or without notice."

CS Kithure Kindiki issued a statement on Wednesday warning Kenyans against participating in violent protests, saying the police would prevent them at "all costs."

Prof. Kindiki warned that looting, destruction of public amenities, and disruption of daily activities witnessed on two consecutive Mondays during the demonstrations could lead to anarchy in the country.

"There will be no more violent protests anywhere in Kenya." Demonstrations and protests of any kind, with or without notice that injure people, security officers, businesses, and property must be avoided at all costs," Prof. Kindiki stated.


"The current situation endangers the rule of law and our country's stability." Violence, looting, destruction of public amenities, disruption of daily activities, and invasion of private property are all signs that our country is on the verge of irreversible anarchy. These heinous crimes must come to an end."
