The Azimio la Umoja protests are still happening in various parts of the country. Protests have so far been witnessed in Nairobi's Kibera and Mathare slums and parts of Juja Road.

Protesters have lit several bonfires to block roads, while police have been forced to use tear gas canisters in other areas. Overall, protestors have been scarce at today's demonstrations. In addition, some regions have not participated in today's protests.

Women and children in Mathare slums went down on their knees moments ago, pleading with police to stop teargassing them and allow them to go about their daily lives.

The mothers pleaded with the officers to send a message to Ruto and Raila to sit down and end the protests. The women also asked the police to leave because they were agitating the residents.

Despite their pleas, youths pelted stones at officers, forcing them to use teargas to disperse the crowd. Several people were arrested during the scuffle.
